Respiratory physiologists diagnose and treat patients suffering from breathing problems using a range of tests and equipment. They are not regulated by law but can choose to be part of an Accredited Register.
The Academy for Healthcare Science is the overarching body for the whole of the Healthcare Science Profession, working to ensure that Healthcare Science is recognised and respected as one of the key clinical professions in the health and care system.
The Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists is an overarching register for a number of clinical physiology professions working in healthcare across the UK. The RCCP merged with the Academy of Healthcare Science in May 2021.
