What stops people complaining to a regulator and why is it important?
In September we published commissioned research looking into the experiences of people who want to complain about their care but struggle to do so. The research revealed that people trying to make complaints about healthcare to a professional regulator can experience many barriers.
Our current interests in regulatory research include:
- Researching the influence regulators have on the behaviour of people on their register
- Understanding the inter-connection between workplaces and people’s behaviour
- Promoting understanding of different approaches to regulation internationally
- Developing a library of knowledge about regulation.

We believe collaboration and cooperating are key for improving regulation and registration. As well as carrying out research, we hold small and, sometimes larger, events throughout the year. Read the highlights from some recent events, blogs or find all our research reports in one place.
