PSA welcomes two new Board members for Scotland and Northern Ireland
01 Jan 2025
We are pleased to announce the appointment of two new Board members from Scotland and Northern Ireland. Ali Jarvis and Geraldine Campbell will join the PSA’s Board from 1 January 2025.
Both Ali and Geraldine will bring their years of experience and commitment to improving public service and promoting social inclusion to the PSA’s Board.
Ali Jarvis became the first Director of Stonewall in Scotland in 2000 and then moved to a UK-wide Director role at the Commission for Racial Equality. For the last 20 years, alongside her non-executive roles, Ali has worked as a freelance consultant and coach specialising in leadership, strategic change management and governance with organisations in the public, private and non-profit sectors. She is also an independent assessor and adviser for the Office of the Ethical Standards Commissioner in Scotland.
Ali Jarvis was appointed to the PSA’s Board by the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care for the Scottish Government.
Geraldine Campbell has extensive experience of regulating professionals through holding non-executive roles with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council, the General Osteopathic Council, the General Dental Council and the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland. She has also been involved in the quality management of the selection, training and continuing education of doctors-in-training in Northern Ireland through a lay role with The Northern Ireland Medical Dental Training Agency (NIMDTA). Geraldine is passionate about the involvement of patients and service users in regulatory decision-making, particularly those least likely to be heard but most likely to be affected by decisions.
Geraldine Campbell was appointed to the PSA’s Board by the Departmental Minister, Mike Nesbitt MLA, Northern Ireland Government.
Alan Clamp, PSA CEO, said:
“I am very pleased to welcome both Ali and Geraldine to the PSA. They will be valued members of our Board and complement the skills and expertise of our existing Board. As a UK-wide organisation is important that we continue to hear the views and voices of professionals, patients and service users in Scotland and Northern Ireland."
Caroline Corby, PSA Chair, said:
“I would like to thank Moi Ali and Tom Frawley, our outgoing board members for Scotland and Northern Ireland respectively, for their years of excellent service to the PSA. I want to welcome Ali and Geraldine to the PSA – they will bring a great deal of wisdom and experience to our Board, and I am really looking forward to working with them."
