Under our legislation, Ministers of health in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland can ask us to give them advice. We have provided advice many times over the past few years. Because we are an independent organisation, we always publish our advice.
For example, we provided advice about the introduction of the duty of candour. We have also provided advice about whether more regulation is needed and on topics such as managing poor performance.
