PSA's Evidence to the Joint Committee on the Health Service Safety Investigations Bill

In our written Evidence to the Joint Committee, we expressed our support for efforts by the Government to encourage and promote a learning culture in healthcare where professionals openly discuss issues that have arisen and ways to improve patient care. We have consistently argued for reform of professional regulation in part to support a greater focus on learning. We are also aware that there are shortcomings in how serious healthcare incidents are investigated and that the proposals within the draft Bill are intended to address those.
