Special reviews (UK and International) 

We are sometimes asked to carry out special reviews or investigations of the regulators in the UK and in other countries, providing advice when it is needed.  

The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care can ask us to carry out an investigation. We can decide to use these powers ourselves when we think it is necessary. Others may also commission us to do this work for a fee.
