The British Psychoanalytic Council is a professional association of the psychoanalytic psychotherapy profession, publishing a Register of practitioners who are required to follow its ethical code and meet its fitness to practise standards.

Three Conditions were issued at the BPC's most recent annual review of accreditation:

The BPC had previously been found to have met Conditions One and Two. In May 2024 we found that it had met Condition Three. You can read our report on that Condition here.

We will soon be undertaking our full renewal assessment of the BPC. Please share feedback with us by 30 April 2025.

Every three years, we undertake a full assessment of Accredited Registers against our Standards.

The BPC is the professional association for psychoanalytic professions in the UK. BPC Registrants use a psychoanalytic model of the mind and there are different settings, applications and degrees of intensity. More information about the Psychoanalytic therapy can be found on BPC website: What is psychotherapy?
