The Authority's advice to the Secretary of State considering the issue of sharing information between regulatory bodies and employers at first entry to the register. Published September 2008

Background

In 2007 the Professional Standards Authority (then CHRE) was asked by the Department of Health to consider the issue of sharing information between regulatory bodies and employers at first entry to the register.

We were asked to report on the burden placed on health professionals when they first join the register and to explore whether regulators and employers could share information at this stage to reduce the burden on individual registrants. The report describes our research with key stakeholders and reflects that we were unable to uncover a clear problem. We recommended no further action at this time.
